Partners, Ahmad Djosan and Denia Isetianti Permata, were invited by the Cheung Kong Graduate School of Business to speak at their leadership programme, the ‘ASEAN-RCEP Leadership Program – Indonesia Module’ at the Park Hyatt, Jakarta, on 19 February 2025. Addressing the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP), a comprehensive free trade agreement deepening economic ties between 15 Asia-Pacific nations, including China and Indonesia, this leadership programme is designed for Chinese entrepreneurs exploring investment opportunities in Indonesia and facilitates collaboration with Indonesian business leaders. This successful leadership programme has also been held in five other ASEAN countries, highlighting its regional significance.

The discussion focused on practical aspects of investing in Indonesia, with our partners presenting on the country’s legal and compliance framework. Key areas covered included land and factory acquisition, data privacy law compliance, and common issues in commercial agreements with local partners. The event underscored the value of understanding these frameworks for developing successful business partnerships between China and Indonesia.
