BIOGRAPHY

Djosan joined Soemadipradja &Taher in 1998. He is licensed to practice law in Indonesia and focuses primarily on dispute resolution covers the full spectrum of contentious matters, land and real estate matters, crisis management matters, customary law matters and employment matters related to various industrial sectors, including mineral and coal mining, petroleum, and other industries across Indonesia.

Djosan has in-depth experience working with the indigenous community and their legal and traditional rights in various regions throughout Indonesia (e.g., in Sumatera, Kalimantan and Papua) assisting clients in the mining, and oil and gas, and plantation industries.

WORK HIGHLIGHTS
  • Led the successful completion of a land titling project which involved 430 plots of land plots for indigenous communities in west Papua, in relation to the human resettlement project for a multinational petroleum exploration company. This project included conducting land due diligence exercises, completing land-related documents, performing land measurements, registering the land, and obtaining freehold certificates for all 430 plots of land.
  • Represented and achieved positive results for, several multinational mining companies in cases of marine environmental pollution in the Riau Islands and in North Sulawesi.
  • Has a track record of winning numerous high-stakes litigious cases in Indonesia's civil and state administrative courts for Indonesian and multinational clients, including a leading global computer software company.
