Kemal has acted for Indonesian and foreign clients on a wide range of transactions, from mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, project development arrangements, and commercial contracts, with particular experience in the mining and real estate sectors. He regularly advises on regulatory and compliance matters, including corporate governance and competition law, such as advising on merger control notifications and providing strategic guidance on Indonesian competition law issues. He also plays a significant role in handling transactional and regulatory matters, with a practice covering compliance reviews, competition law, and capital markets governance and reporting.
Kemal has been recently seconded to a major state-owned mining company, where he works within its governance and compliance functions. In this role, he oversees compliance aspects of operational and project activities and coordinates with business units to support both operational and strategic decision-making. He also advises on capital markets compliance, including the preparation and submission of reports to the OJK, drawing on his strong familiarity with public-company governance and regulatory obligations.

- Advised Jinxin Fertility Group Limited, a leading Assisted Reproductive Service and Women & Children specialty healthcare group in China and the United States, on the sale and purchase of a stake in Morula, the largest Assisted Reproductive Service specialty healthcare group in Indonesia.
- Advised a prominent Singapore-based real estate group in relation to the acquisition of two Singaporean companies holding interests in two Indonesian entities that own and operate serviced apartment buildings in Jakarta.
- Advised a major Japanese real-estate developer on a land acquisition for a proposed residential development in one of Jakarta’s highly populated commuter areas, which involved conducting a due diligence exercise, reviewing the relevant documents, and preparing a comprehensive report for the client.
- Advised Hong Yuh Assets Management Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of one of the largest steel producers in Taiwan, on the acquisition of approximately 400 hectares of land in Indonesia, which involved advising the client on the development of a nickel smelter and refining facility and several other proposed land acquisitions in Indonesia.
- Advised PT Pengembangan Pariwisata Indonesia (Indonesia Tourism Development Corporation, ITDC), on its development of a wide range of infrastructure relating to projects in the Mandalika Special Economic Zone, including ITDC’s plan to cooperate with a construction company for the construction of a racing circuit.
- Advised a major Indonesian oil and gas company in a dispute over land valued at IDR 22 trillion before the Indonesian courts, from the court of first instance up to the Supreme Court of the Republic of Indonesia.
