BIOGRAPHY

Since joining Soemadipradja & Taher in 2014, Adam has acted for Indonesian and international clients in various dispute resolution matters, including commercial litigation, arbitration, crisis management, bankruptcy and restructuring, and white-collar crime.

With over a decade of experience in contentious work, Adam is well equipped to handle complex and challenging cases.

WORK HIGHLIGHTS
  • Acted as defence counsel of a subsidiary of Indonesia’s largest state-owned oil and gas company in crisis management, criminal proceedings, and appellate-stage civil proceedings brought by residents arising from the explosion of its principal fuel depot.
  • Acted as defence counsel for a subsidiary of Indonesia’s largest state-owned oil & gas enterprise in arbitration proceedings brought before the BANI Arbitration Centre against its contractor.
  • Represented the Indonesian subsidiary of a British multinational oil and gas company in several lawsuits relating to overlapping land certificates, with over 340,000 m2 of the company’s land at stake, before the State Administrative Court and the Supreme Court of Indonesia.
  • Defended the Indonesian subsidiary unit of the world’s leading bitumen distribution company against a claim of over US$20 million brought by its customers before the Indonesian courts, including the Supreme Court of Indonesia.
